(This section will likely be updated as I think of more categorizations or details to include.)
Classification:
Each creature listed will be placed in one of the following categories based on composition:
Pure Elemental
One of the Prime Elements come to life. What causes the normally lifeless elements to animate is still unclear, but these pure embodiments of raw nature are excellent opportunities for studying their uncorrupted properties.
Sub-Catagories:
Binary-Composed of two exactly two elements. Some hybrids show a blending of elemental traits, while others retain traits of both elements in tandem.Beast
Creatures without any obviously discernible elemental nature. Beasts are in fact composed of all four elements (though not necessarily equal parts), but the elements have blended and evolved in such a way that they are not readily obvious. Most common fauna would fall into this category, and some would argue humans as well.
Sub-Catagories:
Infused-Beasts that have developed a more distinct elemental nature. Sometimes this manifests as a sort of 'hyper-specialization' in an element a species already favors.
Entropic
Cold-infused organisms are some of the most dangerous in the world and seem to desire little beyond the propagation of their parasitic Element (if anything at all). While Cold does not seem to generate any of its own unique species, if left to corrupt a region long enough it seems to be capable of warping the local lifeforms into very distinct variants.
Major/Minor elements:
Every living organism is composed of the Prime elements, but many have a stronger connection to one of the Four (or Cold for Entropic creatures) than the others. This would be the species' "Major element". Some species may also have other notable or temporary links to an element, and these have been categorized as "Minor elements". More information on the Four Primes can be found in the previous section.
Habitat:
The environment where the creature can be found.
